Dutch style Cherry Cupboard
Design considerations: This piece is constructed from design by Franklin H. Gottshall called Making Furniture Masterpieces. It is made of cherry, stained lightly to bring out the browns in the wood. Notice the turned and fluted corners, the 'french' feet, which I feel give the piece elegance and lightness. The period hardware is Chippendale era, not country which one might expect on this kind of cupboard. The upper cupboard inside is finished with milk paint and oil. The cherry is finished with oil and wax. The upper doors are mullioned and the glass is lightly seeded drawn glass.
